Ռոքֆելլերի և Բեզոսի հիմնադրամները՝ IKEA-ի բարեգործական հիմնադրամի հետ միասին, ստեղծում են արևային էլեկտրակայանների ցանց Նիգերիայում: Արևային կայանները կկառուցվեն Գլոբալ էներգետիկ ալյանսի շրջանակներում, որը հիմնադրվել է 2021 թվականին: Նրանց նախագիծն ուղղված է Նիգերիայի էլեկտրամատակարարման խնդրի լուծմանը:

Առաջին մինի-ցանցը կսկսի գործել դեկտեմբերին, իսկ ևս երկու կայաններ շինարարական փուլում են: Հիմնադրամները նաև չորրորորդ կայանի կառուցումն են հաստատել։

Նախագծի ընդհանուր արժեքը կազմում է 25 միլիոն դոլար: Կառուցման համար միջոցները հատկացվել են վարկի շրջանակներում, որն անցնող տեղական մշակողները պետք է վերադարձնեն նիգերիական նայրայով:

Հոկտեմբերի 19-ին Նիգերիայում տեղի է ունեցել խոշոր խափանում ազգային էներգացանցի աշխատանքում, որի արդյունքում երկրի բոլոր 22 էներգետիկ ձեռնարկությունները դադարել են գործել: Խափանման հնարավոր պատճառ նշվում է տեխնիկական անսարքությունը, որը կապված է էլեկտրաէներգիայի բարձր պահանջարկի հետ։ Ողջ երկրում էլեկտրականությունն ամբողջությամբ անջատվել է, ինչը 2024 թվականի ընթացքում Նիգերիայում հոսանքազրկումների թվով արդեն ութերորդ դեպքն է:

Հայաստանում արևային վահանակներ արտադրող մեկ ընկերություն կա՝ «Սոլարոնը»։
