Արևային էներգիայի ոլորտն աշխարհում արագորեն զարգանում է: 2024 թվականին ակնկալվում է, որ արևային էներգիայի համակարգերի տեղադրված հզորությունը կհասնի մոտ 2 ՏՎտ: Այս մասին հայտարարել է Հնդկաստանի նոր և վերականգնվող էներգիայի նախարար Պ. Ջոշին Նյու Դելիում անցկացվող Միջազգային արևային դաշինքի 7-րդ Գլխավոր ասամբլեայում:

Գլոբալ ներդրումներն այս ոլորտում, ըստ կանխատեսումների, կարող են հասնել մինչև 500 միլիարդ ԱՄՆ դոլար 2024 թվականի վերջում: Նախարարը նշել է, որ 2023 թվականին արևային էներգիայի բաժինը համաշխարհային էլեկտրաէներգիայի կառուցվածքում կազմել է 5.5 %: Այս նվաճումը հնարավոր է դարձել ռեկորդային ներդրումների շնորհիվ, որոնք 2018 թվականի 144 միլիարդ դոլարից հասել են 2023 թվականի 393 միլիարդ դոլարի, և ակնկալվում է, որ այս աճը կշարունակվի՝ մինչև 2024 թվականի վերջում 500 միլիարդ դոլար: Պ. Ջոշին ընդգծել է, որ արևային էներգիան դարձել է ամենամատչելի էլեկտրաէներգիայի աղբյուրը շատ շրջաններում՝ ավելի էժան քան, օրինակ, ածուխը և գազը:

Բացի այդ, նախարարը հիշեցրեց, որ Հնդկաստանը վերականգնվող էներգետիկայի զարգացման ոլորտում ունի հավակնոտ նպատակներ: Վերջին ամսում երկիրը նշանակալի արդյունքի է հասել՝ տեղադրելով 90 ԳՎտ արևային հզորություն, և վստահորեն շարժվում է դեպի 2030 թվականին 500 ԳՎտ հզորություն հասնելու իր նպատակը:

Հնդկաստանի վարչապետ Ն. Մոդին 2015 թվականին նախաձեռնել է միջազգային դաշինք արևային էներգիայի զարգացման համար: 2018 թվականին հիմնադրվել է Միջազգային արևային դաշինքը, որն աջակցվում է ավելի քան հարյուր երկրների կողմից, որոնց մեծ մասը գտնվում է հասարակածի հյուսիսային և հարավային արևադարձային գոտիներում: Դաշինքի կենտրոնակայանը գտնվում է Հնդկաստանի Գուրգաոն քաղաքում:
