ԱՄՆ-ն դիտարկում է Եվրոպայում իր ռազմական ներկայությունը կրճատելու հնարավորությունը՝ Ասիա-խաղաղօվկիանոսյան տարածաշրջանում և Մեքսիկայի հետ սահմանին առաջնահերթությունների պատճառով: Այս մասին հայտնում է ամերիկյան NBC հեռուստաընկերությունը՝ վկայակոչելով աղբյուրներ։

Նրա խոսքով՝ ԱՄՆ պաշտպանության նախարար Փիթ Հեգսեթը Վլադիմիր Զելենսկու հետ փակ հանդիպման ժամանակ ուկրաինական պատվիրակությանը մասնավոր կերպով հայտարարել է, որ եվրոպական երկրներում ռազմական կոնտինգենտի կրճատման հնարավորությունը գնահատվում է ԱՄՆ նախագահ Դոնալդ Թրամփի կողմից։ ԱՄՆ հինգ պաշտոնյաներ և երկու կողմերի հանդիպմանը ծանոթ մեկ պաշտոնյա NBC News-ին հաստատել են տեղեկությունը։

Նրանք նշել են, որ ուկրաինական պատվիրակությունը «ապշած» է Պենտագոնի ղեկավարի այս հայտարարությունից։ Կիևը նման հեռանկարն ընկալում է որպես երկարաժամկետ հեռանկարում սեփական անվտանգության սպառնալիք։

Ի պատասխան NBC News-ի՝ աղբյուրներից ստացված տեղեկատվությունը մեկնաբանելու խնդրանքին, Պենտագոնի մամուլի ծառայությունը տեղեկությունը համարել է «100 տոկոս կեղծ» և հավելել, որ պաշտպանության նախարարը «ոչ մի հայտարարություն չի արել և չի տվել որևէ ժամանակացույց Եվրոպայից ամերիկյան զորքերի դուրսբերման համար»։
