Դեպքերի ճնշող մեծամասնությունում երկկողմանի արևային վահանակների կողմերից կողմը չի կարող պարծենալ պատշաճ էլեկտրականության արտադրությամբ, քանի որ լույս քիչ է ստանում: Չհաշված այլ գործոնները՝ դրան խանգարում է նաև լավ թափանցիկ էլեկտրոդների բացակայությունը, որպեսզի ճառագայթները փոքր կորստներով անցնեն վահանակների միջով: Հետևաբար, այսօր գիտնականների առաջնահերթությունը ամենաբարձր արդյունավետությամբ թափանցիկ էլեկտրոդների ստեղծումն է, և այդ խնդիրը մոտ է լուծմանը, գրում է 3dnews.ru–ն։

Դհարվադի Հնդկական տեխնոլոգիական ինստիտուտի (IIT)  հետազոտողների թիմը պնդում է, որ գտել է ամուր, կայուն, արդյունավետ և մատչելի թափանցիկ նյութ արևային վահանակների էլեկտրոդների համար: Նոր նյութը կարող է փոխարինել թանկարժեք և փխրուն այնպիսի նյութերին, ինչպիսիք են ինդիումի անագի օքսիդը (ITO), որոնք ներկայումս օգտագործվում են երկկողմանի արևային վահանակներ պատրաստելու համար: Հնդիկ գիտնականները մշակել են  երեք հերթափոխող շերտերով՝ երկու արտաքին նիկելի օքսիդի (NiO) և արծաթի (Ag) շերտեր, թափանցիկ բարակ թաղանթով էլեկտրոդներ արտադրելու տեխնոլոգիա: Այդ նյութերը չեն պահանջում հատուկ մշակում ամուր և ճկուն լինելու համար: Նաև դրանց արտադրությունը ավելի էժան կլինի, ինչը խոստանում է ավելի մատչելի դարձնել երկկողմանի արևային մարտկոցները:

Բեկումը եղել է այն ժամանակ, երբ հետազոտողները կարողացել են ընտրել գազային փուլից նյութերի շերտ առ շերտ նստեցման հարմար ռեժիմ: Այդ գործընթացի ընթացքում նյութերը գոլորշիանում են վակուումային խցիկում, այնուհետև խտանում են մակերեսի վրա՝ ձևավորելով բարակ, միատեսակ շերտեր: Օգտագործելով այդ մեթոդը՝ գիտնականները ձևավորել են եռաշերտ NiO/Ag/NiO  կառուցվածք, որի արդյունքում էլեկտրոդի հաստությունը 40 նմ-ից պակաս է ստացվել:

Նման էլեկտրոդների օգտագործումը փորձարարական պերովսկիտ արևային մարտկոցում ցույց է տվել 9,05% արդյունավետություն առջևի մասում և 6,54% հետևի մասում: Երկկողմանի գործակիցը, որը ցույց է տալիս, թե որքան արդյունավետ է վահանակի հետևի մասը արտադրում էլեկտրաէներգիա համեմատած դիմացի կողմի հետ, հասել է 72%-ի: Իրականացվել փորձարկում 1000 ժամ առանց շրջակա միջավայրից պաշտպանության, և պերովսկիտային վահանակները պահպանել են իրենց սկզբնական արդյունավետության մինչև 80%-ը:

Նման երկկողմանի արևային մարտկոցները կբարձրացնեն արևային մարտկոցների շահագործման արդյունավետությունը նորմալ պայմաններում և պահանջարկ կունենան այն տարածքներում, որտեղ նախկինում ֆոտոգալվաններ չեն օգտագործվել, օրինակ գյուղատնտեսությունում, որտեղ լույսի յուրաքանչյուր ֆոտոն կարևոր է: Այդ վահանակները կարող են նաև փոխարինել պատուհանի ապակուն՝ էներգիա արտադրելով  և չխանգարելով լույսի հոսքին սենյակ:
