ԵՄ Aspides ռազմածովային առաքելությունը չի պլանավորում ցամաքային հարվածներ հասցնել Կարմիր ծովում գործողությունների ժամանակ՝ չնայած Եմենի հութիների ապստամբական «Անսար Ալլահ» շարժման դեմ ավելի մեծ ներգրավվածության կոչերին: Այս մասին Euractiv պորտալին հայտնել է ԵՄ առաքելության ներկայացուցիչը։

Aspides-ի անդամները «չեն իրականացնում եւ չեն նախատեսում հարվածներ հասցնել ցամաքում», նրանց «գործողություններն ուղղված են դեէսկալացմանը», նշել է ներկայացուցիչը։ Նա ասել է, որ առաքելության «հիմնական նպատակը՝ առեւտրային նավերի պաշտպանությունը, մնում է խստորեն պաշտպանական՝ միջազգային իրավունքի համաձայն»: Հարձակմանը ցանկացած պատասխան կլինի «համաչափ եւ սահմանափակվելու է միջազգային ծովային կամ օդային տարածքով»,- ընդգծել է Aspides-ի ներկայացուցիչը:

Նրա խոսքով՝ անցյալ տարվա փետրվարից Aspides ուժերը ուղեկցել են ավելի քան 700 նավերի։ Դրանցից 410-ը արժանացել է հատուկ ուշադրության։
