Ռուսաստանի նախագահ Վլադիմիր Պուտինը «Արկտիկա՝ երկխոսության տարածք» ֆորումի լիագումար նիստում անդրադարձել է Գրենլանդիայի նկատմամբ ԱՄՆ-ի հավակնություններին։ Նա ընդգծել է, որ խորապես սխալ է այդ ծրագրերը արտառոց համարելը, գրում է ՏԱՍՍ-ը։

Պուտինը նշել է, որ Գրենլանդիայի բռնակցման ծրագրերն ամերիկացիների շրջանում հայտնվել են դեռևս 18-րդ դարի 60-ականներին, սակայն Կոնգրեսի աջակցությունը չեն ստացել։

«Արդեն այն ժամանակ ամերիկյան վարչակազմը դիտարկում էր Գրենլանդիան և Իսլանդիան միացնելու հնարավորությունը, սակայն այդ գաղափարն այն ժամանակ Կոնգրեսի աջակցությունը չստացավ»,- պարզաբանել է նա։

Պուտինը նաև հիշեցրել է, որ ժամանակին ամերիկացիները ծաղրում էին նաև Ալյասկայի գնումը:

«Ի դեպ, հիշեցնեմ, որ 1868 թվականի դրությամբ ամերիկյան թերթերը ծաղրում էին Ալյասկայի գնում՝ դա որակելով «խելագարություն»... Բայց այսօր Ալյասկայի ձեռքբերումն ԱՄՆ-ում, հավանաբար, գնահատվում է բոլորովին այլ կերպ», - ասել է ՌԴ նախագահը:

Ռուսաստանի կողմից Ալյասկան Ամերիկայի Միացյալ Նահանգներին վաճառելու մասին պայմանագիրը կնքվել է Վաշինգտոնում 1867 թվականի մարտի 30-ին: Ամբողջ Ալյասկայի թերակղզին, Ալեքսանդր և Կոդիակ արշիպելագները, Ալեուտյան շղթայի կղզիները, ինչպես նաև Բերինգի ծովի մի քանի կղզիներ անցել են ԱՄՆ-ին։ Վաճառված հողատարածքի ընդհանուր մակերեսը կազմել է 1,519,000 քկմ: Տարածքները ամերիկացիներին վաճառելու որոշումը միաձայն պաշտպանել են Ռուսաստանի կայսր Ալեքսանդր Երկրորդը, Մեծ իշխանԿոնստանտին Նիկոլաևիչը, ֆինանսների նախարար Միխայիլ Ռետեռնը, ռազմածովային նախարար Նիկոլայ Կրաբբեն և ԱՄՆ-ում Ռուսաստանի բանագնաց բարոն Էդուարդ Ստեկլը։ Տարածքի փոխանցման պաշտոնական արարողությունը տեղի է ունեցել Նովոարխանգելսկում (այժմ՝ Սիտկա քաղաք) 1867 թվականի հոկտեմբերին. ռուսական դրոշը իջեցվել է, իսկ ամերիկյան դրոշը՝ բարձրացվել։
