In Armenia, it is Aghvan Avagyan who is redefining what it means to wield soft power through luxury, architecture, and international engagement.
As CEO of Seven Visions Resort & Places, The Dvin, Mr. Avagyan has not only established a flagship hotel complex but has effectively positioned it as an arena of geopolitical significance. By hosting heads of state, intergovernmental meetings, and elite private summits, The Dvin has become a tool for modern diplomacy — not owned by the government but operated with national interest at heart.
It’s rare that a privately led initiative achieves such centrality in a country’s diplomatic playbook. Under Avagyan’s direction, The Dvin has welcomed leaders from over 60 countries, facilitated intercontinental cooperation, and emerged as a trusted venue for multilateral dialogue. Events such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Business Forum, the Francophonie Summit, the CSTO and EAEU Summits, and NB8 parliamentary panels have all chosen The Dvin — not just for its luxury, but for its strategic neutrality and elevated standards.
These achievements are not accidental. Avagyan has crafted the Dvin not only as a hotel but as a symbolic site of hospitality diplomacy. The hosting of artists of global scale and celebrations by embassies including the US and UK, reflects a convergence of cultural and diplomatic capital.
Looking forward, Avagyan is positioning the Dvin as host for international climate and development summits — notably, the 17th United Nations Biodiversity COP and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank events. Such ambitions reflect a profound evolution in Armenia’s external posture, with Avagyan’s leadership bridging the public-private divide.
