Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին, ըստ ամենայնի, հաջողվել է լուրջ պառակտում մտցնել Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու վերնախավի մեջ, և դրա համար օգտագործվել են բոլոր հնարավոր մեթոդները՝ ահաբեկումներից մինչև կոմպրոմատներ։

Հիշեցնենք՝ երեկ նախ Փաշինյանի ընտանիքին պատկանող լրատվամիջոցները տարածեցին մի քանի եպիսկոպոսների նամակը՝ ուղղված Ամենայն Հայոց Կաթողիկոսին, ապա և Փաշինյանը կառավարությունում, լրագրողների հետ ճեպազրույցում, հայտարարեց, թե շնորհակալություն է հայտնում սրբազաններին նրանց «սկզբունքային դիրքորոշման» համար և հրավիրեց իր մոտ հանդիպման։ Եթե մինչ հանդիպումը շատերը կասկած էին հայտնում նամակի իսկության վերաբերյալ և հույս ունեին, թե այնտեղ նշված անուններից որոշները չեն մասնակցի Փաշինյանի հետ հանդիպմանը, թվով ութ հոգևորականներ՝ Աբրահամ արքեպիսկոպոս Մկրտչյանը, Առաքել արքեպիսկոպոս Քարամյանը, Վազգեն արքեպիսկոպոս Միրզախանյանը, Անուշավան եպիսկոպոս Ժամկոչյանը, Վրթանես եպիսկոպոս Աբրահամյանը, Նավասարդ արքեպիսկոպոս Կճոյանը, Առաքել եպիսկոպոս Տիգրանյանը, Գևորգ եպիսկոպոս Սարոյանը, գնացել էին կառավարություն, և նրանցից մի մասը անթաքույց ժպիտով, մյուսներն էլ՝ բավականին տխուր և ընկճված, լսում էին Փաշինյանի մտազեղումները Հայ Առաքելական եկեղեցու վերաբերյալ։

Ըստ էության, Նիկոլ Փաշինյանին հաջողվել է առաջին փուլում բավականին լուրջ հաղթանակ գրանցել և Գարեգին Երկրորդի դեմ եկեղեցու ներսում որոշակի դիմադրություն ձևավորել, բայց առայժմ վաղ է Կաթողիկոսին հաշվից դուրս թողնել։ Վերջինս նույն եկեղեցական կանոնակարգով մի շարք քայլեր անելու հնարավորություն ունի, որոնք կարող են փաստի առջև կանգնեցնել գործող իշխանություններին։ Թե ինչ որոշում կկայացնի Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցին, դեռևս հայտնի չէ, միայն թե Մայր Աթոռից հայտնել են, թե եպիսկոպոսների նամակը խեղաթյուրումներով շարադրված տեքստ է։

«Մի շարք տեղեկություններ և պնդումներ չեն համապատասխանում իրականությանը։ Այս առնչությամբ անհրաժեշտ քննարկումներից հետո լուսաբանություններ կտրվեն», — գրել է Տեր Եսայի քահանա Արթենյանը։ Ամեն դեպքում փաստենք, որ առաջիկայում բավականին լուրջ և արագընթաց զարգացումներ են սպասվում Հայ Առաքելական Եկեղեցում։
