Փաշինյանական իշխանության անողնաշարությունը հրաշալի հնարավորություն է դարձել Ադրբեջանի համար՝ ամենավայրագ ու զազրելի քարոզչական նարատիվները առաջ տանելու, Հայաստանին և հայ ժողովրդին ոճրագործությունների մեջ մեղադրելու համար, մինչդեռ ՀՀ գործող իշխանությունները կամ «ջուր են առել բերանները», կամ լավագույն դեպքում հերթապահ ու ոչինչ չասող հայտարարություններ են տարածում։

Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը տիկնոջ ու ընտանիքի անդամների հետ «Խոջալուի ցեղասպանությանը» նվիրված հուշարձան է բացել, իր խոսքում էլ Հայաստանի պետությանը մեղադրելով Խոջալուում կատարվածի մեջ։ Մինչդեռ Ադրբեջանի նախկին նախագահ Այազ Մութալիբովն էր ժամանակին պնդել, որ Խոջալուում ազգակիցներին գնդակահարել են հենց Ադրբեջանի Ժողճակատի մարտիկները՝ երկրում հեղաշրջում անելու համար։ Ներկայումս Ալիևի ռեժիմի ամենաջերմեռանդ քարոզիչ Էյնուլլա Ֆաթուլլաևը 2005-ին Խոջալուից դուրս եկած ադրբեջանցիների հետ զրույցից հետո գրել էր՝ «Նրանք խոստովանեցին, որ գրոհն սկսելուց մի քանի օր առաջ հայերը բարձրախոսներով նախազգուշացնում էին ծրագրվող գործողության մասին և քաղաքացիական անձանց առաջարկում հեռանալ ավանից՝ շրջափակումից դուրս գալ Կարկառ գետի երկայնքով՝ մարդասիրական միջանցքով։

Միջանցք իրականում եղել է, այլապես ամբողջությամբ շրջափակված և արտաքին աշխարհից կտրված խոջալուցիները չէին կարող օղակը ճեղքել և շրջափակումից դուրս գալ։ Խոջալուցիների մի մասը, չգիտես ինչու, ուղղվել է դեպի Նախիջևանիկ, որը հայկական վերահսկողության տակ էր։ Թվում է, թե Ժողճակատի գումարտակները ձգտում էին ոչ թե խոջալուցիների փրկությանը, այլ՝ մեծ արյան՝ Մութալիբովին գահընկեց անելու ճանապարհին»։

Հայաստանի իշխանությունը հարկ չի համարել փաստերով հակադարձել Բաքվին։ Փոխարենը Թուրքիայից են հայտարարություն արել՝ աջակցություն հայտնելով Ադրբեջանին։ Ադրբեջանական պետական լրատվամիջոցների հաղորդմամբ, օրվան նվիրված միջոցառումներ են անցկացվել նաև այլ երկրներում, այդ թվում՝ Ֆինլանդիայում, Կանադայում, ԱՄՆ-ում։ Նշվում է, որ բոլոր այդ միջոցառումները իրականացվել են Ադրբեջանի կառավարության, մասնավորապես՝ Սփյուռքի հետ աշխատանքի պետական կոմիտեի աջակցությամբ։ Հայտարարություն է տարածել նաև Ադրբեջանում Ուկրաինայի դեսպանը։

Իսկ այսօր լրանում է 1988 թ. Սումգայիթում Ադրբեջանի ԽՍՀ ուժերի կողմից կազմակերպված ջարդերի զոհերի հիշատակի օրը։ Նիկոլ Փաշինյանից ոչ մի բառ, թերևս զբաղված է ամուսնալուծության հարցերով։ Իսկ ՀՀ ԱԳՆ-ն անատամ մի հայտարարություն է տարածել, որը միայն խղճահարություն ու հայհոյելու ցանկություն է առաջացնում։
