Լավ կլիներ ինչ որ մեկը Արայիկ Հարությունյանին հարց ուղղեր՝ դու իրավունք ունե՞ս Ծանրամարտի ֆեդերացիայի նախագահ լինես, իսկ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը իրավունք չու՞նի Հայաստանի ազգային օլիմպիական կոմիտեի նախագահը լինել։
 
Ի՞նչ կապ ունես դու ընդհանրապես սպորտի հետ, ի՞նչ մարզական հետագիծ ունես, ծանրամարտի մասին ի՞նչ իմացություններ ունես։
 
2004 թվականին, երբ Գագիկ Ծառուկյանը, 48 տարեկանում ստանձնում էր Հայաստանի ազգային օլիմպիական կոմիտեի նախագահի պարտականությունները և հայկական սպորտը գտնվում էր խայտառակ ծանր վիճակում՝ շատերն էին հարցնում՝ արդյո՞ք դա պետք է իրեն։ Մարզադպրոցները կիսաքանդ էին, ենթակառուցվածքները՝ ավերված, միջազգային ասպարեզում հաջողությունները՝ սակավ, մարզիկները՝ անտեսված։ Շատ մարզադպրոցներում անգամ տարրական պայմաններ չկային մարզվելու համար, մարզիկներն արտագաղթում էին, հայկական սպորտը կանգնած էր լուրջ մարտահրավերների առաջ։
 
Բայց Գագիկ Ծառուկյանի դիրքորոշումը հստակ էր՝ սա իր պատվի և երկրի արժանապատվության հարցն է ու ոչ մի դժվարություն չի կարող վախեցնել։ Նրա պաշտոնավարման շուրջ երկու տասնամյակների ընթացքում կառուցվեցին և վերանորոգվեցին տասնյակ մարզադպրոցներ, ապահովվեցին մարզագույքով, արտագաղթած մարզիկներից շատերը հետ վերադարձան ու սկսեցին եռագույնի ներքո հանդես գալ, սահմանվեց մարզիկների խրախուսման ու պարգևատրման նոր մշակույթ։ Հայ մարզաշխարհը վերածնվեց, իսկ մեր աշխարհասփյուռ հայրենակիցները բազմաթիվ առիթներ ունեցան հպարտանալու մեր մարզիկների հաղթանակներով, մեր եռագույնը հազարավոր անգամներ բարձրացվեց միջազգային ամենահեղինակավոր հարթակներում ու հնչեց ազգային օրհներգը։
 
Այս հաղթանակների ճնշող մեծամասնությունը միշտ մեր ծանրամարտիկներն են նվաճել, քանզի ծանրամարտը մեր ամենաշատ մեդալ բերող մարզաձևն է դարձել Գագիկ Ծառուկյանի տարիների քրտնաջան աշխատանքից ու ահռելի ներդրումներից հետո։
 
 Հիմա հարց Արայիկ Հարությունյանին՝ ո՞նց դու հայտնվեցիր Ծանրամարտի ֆեդերացիայի նախագահի պաշտոնում, ի՞նչ խոստումներ էիր տվել ծանրամարտի միջազգային ընտանիքում Հայաստանի դիրքերը բարելավելու մասին, որոնք այդպես էլ չկատարեցիր և ի վերջո՝ արդյո՞ք հայ մարզաշխարհը ընդունեց քեզ, որպես ֆեդերացիայի նախագահ։
