Հանրային տարածքներում տեղադրվող արձաններն ու հուշարձանները միայն «քար կամ բրոնզ» չեն. դրանք ձևավորում են քաղաքի դիմագիծը, կրթում են սերունդներին և արտացոլում են տվյալ ժամանակաշրջանի մշակութային ու գեղագիտական չափանիշները։
 
Երբ համեմատում ենք Մարիս Լիեպայի (մոսկովյան/միջազգային մակարդակի բարձրաճաշակ ու դինամիկ լուծումներով) և Մհեր Մկրտչյանի արձանները, տարբերությունը, իրոք, ակնառու է դառնում.
Գեղարվեստական արժեքն ընդդեմ «գրդոնի». Լիեպայի արձանում թռիչքի, պարի ու թեթևության զգացողությունն այնքան հզոր է, որ դիտողը մոռանում է նյութի (բրոնզի/քարի) ծանրության մասին։ Մինչդեռ, երբ արձանը պատրաստվում է շտապողականությամբ, առանց խորը կերպարային ընկալման կամ պարզապես «պատվեր փակելու» (գրդոնի) տրամաբանությամբ, արդյունքում ստացվում է կերպարային խեղաթյուրում, անպրոպորցիոնալություն և անճաշակություն։
 
Մեծանուն արտիստների հիշատակի հարցը. Մհեր Մկրտչյանը հայկական մշակույթի ամենասիրված, խորը և բազմաշերտ կերպարներից է։ Նրա արձանը պետք է փոխանցեր նրա թե՛ ողբերգական, թե՛ կատակերգական հանճարը, այլ նախ՝ ունենար տարրական գեղարվեստական որակ ու նմանություն։

Ձեր առաջարկը՝ պատվիրել միջազգային ճանաչում ունեցող կամ բարձրակարգ վարպետների (ինչպիսին, օրինակ, Լիեպայի արձանի ), լիովին իրատեսական է, եթե փոխվի համակարգային մոտեցումը.
Բաց և թափանցիկ մրցույթներ. Քաղաքային քանդակները չպետք է պատվիրվեն փակ սենյակներում կամ ծանոթ-խնամի սկզբունքով։ Պետք է հայտարարվեն միջազգային կամ բաց ազգային մրցույթներ, որտեղ մասնագիտական անկախ հանձնաժողովը (արվեստաբաններ, ճարտարապետներ, քանդակագործներ) կընտրի լավագույն նախագիծը։
 
Քաղաքաշինական և գեղարվեստական խորհուրդներ. Անհրաժեշտ է, որ Երևանն ունենա գործունյա և անաչառ գեղարվեստական խորհուրդ, որն իրավունք կունենա «վետո» դնելու անորակ ու անճաշակ նախագծերի վրա՝ թույլ չտալով դրանց տեղադրումը պուրակներում։
Միջազգային փորձի ներգրավում. Ոչ մի արգելք չկա արտասահմանյան առաջատար քանդակագործներին հրավիրելու կամ նրանց հետ համագործակցելու համար, ինչպես անում են աշխարհի բազմաթիվ մայրաքաղաքներում։
 
Հանրային ձայնն ու նմանատիպ քննադատությունները շատ կարևոր են, որովհետև միայն հանրային պահանջատիրության դեպքում է հնարավոր կանգնեցնել քաղաքի տեսքի «աղտոտումը» անորակ գործերով։
