Նոր տարին այն եզակի, նույնիսկ միակ տոնն է, երբ բոլոր մարդիկ առանց բացառության փորձում են հավատալ հրաշքների, ցանկություններ են պահում և նվերներ մատուցում։ Orer.am-ը ներկայացնում է Նոր տարվա մասին հետաքրքիր մանրամասներ՝ լուսանկարներով։ Պատմաբանները պնդում են, որ Նոր տարին դիմավորելու ավանդույթը ծագել է Միջագետքում ավելի քան 4 հազար տարի առաջ։ Այն խորհրդանշում էր գարնան ծաղկունք և կյանք, ինչպես նաև մահվան նկատմամբ կյանքի տարած հաղթանակ: Որոշ ազգեր Ամանորը նշում են տարվա սկիզբին, ըստ Լուսանյին օրացույցի։ Դա այն ժամանակաշրջանն է, որի ընթացքում Երկիր մոլորակը կատարում է մի լրիվ պտույտ Արեգակի շուրջը: Աշխարհի երկրների մեծ մասը, այդ թվում՝ Հայստանը, տոնում է Ամանորը հունվարի 1-ին, որը, ըստ Գրիգորյան օրացույցի, տարվա առաջին օրն է։ Հին հայերը Նոր տարին նշել են Նավասարդի 1-ին (օգոստոսի 11-ին), որը համընկնում էր մ. թ. ա. 2492 թվականին Բելի դեմ Հայկ Նահապետի տարած հաղթանակի օրվան: Նավասարդը և տոնական նվերները հայերն անվանել են նաև Կաղանդ (հունարեն կալենդ բառից է և նշանակում է ամսագլուխ), Ձմեռ պապին` Կաղանդ պապ: 1582 թվականին Գրիգորյան տոմարն ընդունելուց հետո, եվրոպական երկրներում տարին սկսել են հունվարի 1-ից, իսկ Ռուսաստանում` Պետրոս Մեծի հրամանագրով` 1700 թվականից: Տիկին Կլուսը Սանտա Կլաուսի կինն ու օգնականն է, ով հանդես է գալիս որպես նրա օգնական, վարում է նրանց տնային գործերը, ղեկավարում է թզուկների և այլ ոգիների, ովքեր երեխաների համար նվերներ են պատրաստում։ Ձմեռ պապի ամենահայտնի բնակավայրերից մեկը գտնվում է Ռովանիեմից ոչ հեռու, և այն պատկանում է ոչ թե Սանտա-Կլաուսին, ինչպես շատերն են կարծում, այլ Յոուլուպուկիին՝ ֆինների սուրբծննդյան հրաշագործին: Յոուլուպուկիի հանդիպումը երկրի նախագահ` Սաուլի Վեյնեյմյո Նիիստյոյի հետ։ Ջուլուվհանի և իր գործընկեր Դեդ Մոռոզի հանդիպման արարողությունը․ 1997 թվականից այդ հանդիպումները դարձել են ավանդական։ Շվեյցարիայում է ապրում Յուլ Թոմթեն, ով ունի կախարդական անտառ, նրան օգնում է ձնեմարդ Դաստին: Երբ կորոշեք այցելել Թոմթեին, ապա ուշադիր կլինեք, որ չվնասեք ձեր ոտքերի տակ հայտնված թզուկներին։
«Սանդերկլաաս» -Հոլանդիա
Շեն Դան Լաոժենի գխավորությամբ է Ճինաստանը դիմավորում Նոր Տարին։ Ըստ ավանդույթի՝ տոնական հարուստ գույները հեռացնում են չար ոգիներին։ Տոնի նախօրեին փոքրիկ չինացիները տան պատերին կախում են գուլպաներ, որտեղ Դուն Չե Լաո Ռենը՝ Ծննդյան պապիկը, դնում է իր նվերները:
Իտալիայում անցնող տարվա վերջին օրը բոլոր պատուհաններից դուրս են թափում անպիտան իրերը: Իտալացիները նախընտրում են Նոր տարի մտնել ոչ միայն տան նորացված հարդարանքով, այլեւ նոր հագուկապով: Դեկտեմբերի 31-ին տղամարդիկ եւ կանայք հարազատներին նվիրում են կարմիր գույնի ներքնազգեստ: Իսկ փոքրիկ իտալացիները նվերներ են սպասում Ձմեռ Պապու կնոջից, որը անվանվում է ոչ թե Ձյունանուշ, այլ Լա Բեֆանա:
Իսպանիայի հյուսիսային հատվածում գտնվող Բասկերի երկրում ապրում է Օլենտցեռոնը, նա տարբերվում է մյուս Ձմեռ պապիկներից նրանով, որ կրում է ազգային հագուստ և իր հետ միշտ ունի իսպանական գինով լի շիշ։
Վրացի  Ձմեռ պապը՝ Թովլիս ապան է, տես, որ գլխարկը ոչխարի մորթուց է պատրաստված։
Դուրս արի, ցուրտ է, բայց չէ, երևի տուրիստ է այս պապին։  Ոչ, ամենևին, նա թուրք Ձմեռ պապ Նոել Բաբան է։
