Нападающий "Реала" обошел в споре Лионеля Месси и Мануэля Нойера. Португальский нападающий испанского клуба "Реал" (Real Madrid CF) Криштиану Роналду второй год подряд стал обладателем "Золотого мяча" ФИФА. Церемония вручения приза лучшему футболисту мира 2014 года прошла в Цюрихе.
В голосовании тренеров и капитанов национальных сборных, а также журналистов 29-летний форвард опередил аргентинского нападающего испанской "Барселоны" (FC Barcelona) Лионеля Месси и вратаря немецкой "Баварии" (FC Bayern Munich) Мануэля Нойера. В минувшем году Роналду в составе "Реала" выиграл Кубок Испании и Лигу чемпионов, завоевал Суперкубок УЕФА, а также стал победителем клубного чемпионата мира.
После завершения сезона-2013/14 он наряду с уругвайским форвардом Луисом Суаресом стал обладателем "Золотой бутсы" - награды, ежегодно вручаемой лучшему бомбардиру национальных чемпионатов стран, входящих в УЕФА. Оба игрока забили по 31 мячу. Также по итогам сезона-2013/14 португалец стал лучшим бомбардиром чемпионата Испании (31 мяч, 6 - с пенальти) и Лиги чемпионов (17, 2).
В составе национальной команды Роналду неудачно выступил на прошедшем в Бразилии чемпионате мира - португальцы не смогли выйти из группы. В трех матчах он забил один мяч. Роналду получил третий "Золотой мяч" в карьере - первый он завоевал в 2008 году будучи игроком английского "Манчестер Юнайтед" (Manchester United). Во второй раз он стал обладателем престижной награды в 2013 году. Награда была учреждена в 2010 году после объединения двух престижных призов - "Золотого мяча" по версии издания France Football и "Игрока года ФИФА".
