Հունվարի 16-ին կայացավ ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալ Դավիթ Տոնոյանի գլխավորած պատվիրակության պաշտոնական այցը Վրաստան: Պատվիրակության կազմում էր նաև ՀՀ զինված ուժերի գլխավոր շտաբի պետի առաջին տեղակալ, գեներալ-լեյտենանտ Էնրիկո Ապրիամովը:
Պատվիրակությանն ընդունել է Վրաստանի պաշտպանության նախարարի տեղակալ Լեվան Գիրշիաշվիլին: Հանդիպման ժամանակ կողմերը քննարկել են Հայաստանի Հանրապետության և Վրաստանի միջև պաշտպանության ոլորտում երկկողմ համագործակցության ներկան և ապագա հեռանկարները, անդրադարձել են տարածաշրջանային անվտանգության խնդիրներին: Զրուցակիցները նշել են, որ պաշտպանության ոլորտում երկկողմ համագործակցության խորացումը առաջնահերթությունների թվին է դասվում և Հայաստանում, և Վրաստանում: Որպես համագործակցության առանցքային ուղղություն` կարևորվել են ռազմական կրթությունն ու ուսումը:
ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալը, օգտվելով առիթից, շնորհակալություն է հայտնել վրացական կողմին` Սաչխերե լեռնային պատրաստության ուսումնական կենտրոնում հայոց զինուժի անձնակազմի մասնագիտական վերապատրաստման բարենպաստ հնարավորություններ ստեղծելու համար: Հանդիպման վերջում երկու պետությունների պաշտպանական գերատեսչություններում միջազգային համագործակցության համար պատասխանատու պաշտոնյաները ստորագրել են հայ-վրացական երկկողմ ռազմական համագործակցության 2015թ. պլանը:
Այցի ընթացքում ՀՀ պաշտպանության նախարարի առաջին տեղակալի գլխավորած պատվիրակությունը հանդիպում է ունեցել նաև Վրաստանի պաշտպանության նախարար Մինդիա Ջանելիձեի հետ, իսկ Վրաստանի զինված ուժերի գլխավոր շտաբի պետ, գեներալ-մայոր Վախթանք Կապանաձեի կողմից հյուրընկալվել է պաշտոնական ճաշի:
Հայկական պատվիրակությունն այցելել է նաև Գորիում տեղակայված Վրաստանի ազգային պաշտպանական ակադեմիա: Ռազմակրթական այս օջախում Դավիթ Տոնոյանը հանդես է եկել«Հարավային Կովկասում տարածաշրջանային անվտանգությունը և միջազգային կազմակերպությունների դերակատարումը» խորագիրը կրող զեկուցումով:
