Գյումրիում կատարված սահմռկեցուցիչ սպանություններից հետո կրկին ակտիվացել են Ռուսաստանի մերձկրեմլյան քաղաքագետները, որոնք անուղղակիորեն ներկայացնում են Կրեմլի տեսակետները և շարունակում են ուղղակի և անուղղակի սպառնալիքները Հայաստանի հասցեին: Ինչպես միշտ, Հայաստանին հիշեցնում են, որ պետք չէ պահանջատեր լինել Ռուսաստանի նկատմամբ, այլապես կարող ենք կանգնել Արցախը կորցնելու վտանգի առաջ, որ առանց ռուսական ռազմաբազայի Հայաստանը կարող է վերանալ աշխարհի քաղաքական քարտեզից և այլն:
Ակնհայտ է, որ հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունները իրականում ոչ թե դաշնակցային, այլ մետրոպոլիայի և գաղութի միջև եղած հարաբերություններ են: Ռուսաստանը չի ցանկանում տեսնել ուժեղ և ինքնուրույն Հայաստան: Ռուսական ռազմա-քաղաքական էլիտան Հայաստանը չի դիտարկում որպես դաշնակից երկիր, այլ նայում է որպես մի ֆորպոստի, նույնիսկ որոշները Հայաստանը չեն համարում անկախ երկիր և թքած ունեն Հայաստանի շահերի վրա:
Ռուսական ռազմա-քաղաքական էլիտայի նման վերաբերմունքը Հայաստանի նկատմամբ սկսվեց Ռուսաստանում Վլադիմիր Պուտինի իշխանության գալուց հետո: Դրանից հետո Ռուսաստանը շանտաժով, սպառնալիքներով և, իհարկե, Հայաստանի ղեկավարության թուլամորթ պահվածքի հետևանքով տիրացավ Հայաստանի էներգետիկ համակարգի մեծ մասին, ինչպես նաև ռուսական պետական ընկերությունների կառավարման ներքո անցան հայկական երկաթուղին, ատոմակայանը: Ռուսական որոշ ձեռնարկություններ գնեցին կապի ոլորտի հայկական երկու ընկերություններ: Այս ռազմավարական օբյեկտները Ռուսաստանի ձեռքում դարձել են շանտաժի միջոց՝ Հայաստանի վրա մշտական ճնշումներ գործադրելու համար: Միաժամանակ իրեն Հայաստանի դաշնակից համարող պետությունը մի քանի միլիարդ դոլարի զենք է վաճառել Հայաստանի հետ թշնամական հարաբերություններ ունեցող Ադրբեջանին:
ԱՄՆ-ի և Իսրայելի միջև եղած դաշնակցային հարաբերությունների ֆոնին, երբ տեսնում ենք, թե ինչպես են գործակցում Իսրայելը և ԱՄՆ-ը, ակհայտ է դառնում, որ հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունները ոչ մի կերպ չի կարելի համարել դաշնակցային: Մասնավորապես, անհնար է պատկերացնել, որ ԱՄՆ-ի ռազմա-քաղաքական էլիտայի որևէ ներկայացուցիչ կարող է հայտարարել, որ առանց ԱՄՆ-ի Իսրայելը գոյություն չի ունենա: Երկրորդ համաշխարհային պատերազմից հետո ստեղծված Իսրայել պետությունը բազմիցս պատերազմների մեջ է եղել հարևան արաբական պետությունների հետ, և ԱՄՆ-ը մշտապես դիվանագիտական, ռազմական և ֆինանսական աջակցություն է ցուցաբերել Իսրայելին: Դժվար է պատկերացնել, որ ԱՄՆ-ը կարող է զենք և զինամթերք վաճառել Իսրայելի հետ թշնամական հարաբերություններ ունեցող որևէ երկրի, ասենք՝ Սիրիային: ԱՄՆ-ը մշտապես ֆինանսական և ռազմական օգնություն է տրամադրում Իսրայելին, մասնավորապես, նրան տարեկան տրամադրում է 1,4 մլրդ դոլարի ռազմական և մոտ 3 մլրդ դոլարի ֆինանսական աջակցություն: Միայն 1974թ-ից մինչև 2005թ-ը ԱՄն-ը Իսրայելին տրամադրել է 80 մլրդ դոլարի օգնություն:
Ուստի ժամանակն է իրերը կոչել իրենց անուններով, և պետք է վերանայել հայ-ռուսական հարաբերությունները՝ դարձնելով այն իսկապես ռազմավարական: Դրա համար պետք է Հայաստանը դարձնել ավելի ուժեղ պետություն, որպեսզի մանևրելու հնարավորություն ունենա և ստիպի Ռուսաստանին հաշվի առնել իր շահերը:
