Ժնևում ՄԱԿ-ի Մարդու իրավունքների խորհրդի Համընդհանուր պարբերական դիտարկման աշխատանքային խմբի 21-րդ նստաշրջանի ընթացքում հունվարի 22-ին քննարկվել է Հայաստանի 2-րդ պարբերական զեկույցը՝ Մարդու իրավունքների պաշտպանության բնագավառում Հայաստանի ձեռքբերումների և առկա խնդիրների վերաբեյալ: Ինչպես «Արմենպրես»-ին տեղեկացրին ՀՀ արտգործնախարարության մամուլի, տեղեկատվությա ն և հասարակայնության հետ կապի վարչությունից, հայկական պատվիրակությունը ղեկավարել է ՀՀ ԱԳ նախարարի տեղակալ Աշոտ Հովակիմյանը: Պատվիրակության կազմում ընդգրկված են եղել ՀՀ արտաքին գործերի, արդարադատության, աշխատանքի և սոցիալական հարցերի, առողջապահության, կրթության և գիտության նախարարությունների, գլխավոր դատախազության, ոստիկանության, միգրացիոն պետական ծառայության և հեռուստառադիոյի պետական հանձնաժողովի ներկայացուցիչները:
Զեկույցի քննարկումն անցել է կառուցողական երկխոսության մթնոլորտում: ՀՀ պատվիրակության ղեկավարը ներկայացրել է զեկույցը, մարդու իրավունքների բնագավառում ՀՀ ստանձնած պարտավորությունների կատարման ընթացքը՝ օրենսդրական և պրակտիկայում արձանագրված բարեփոխումները, ՀՀ կողմից ձեռնարկված և նախատեսվող քայլերը: Պատվիրակության անդամները ներկայացրել են իրենց բնագավառներին վերաբերող իրավիճակը, կատարված ու նախատեսված աշխատանքները:
Զեկույցի քննարկման ընթացքում Հայաստանի պատվիրակությունը պատասխանել է ՄԱԿ-ի անդամ երկրների կողմից բարձրացված գրավոր ու բանավոր հարցերին, ինչպես նաև անդրադարձել է ներկայացված այլընտրանքային զեկույցներում բարձրացված խնդիրներին:
Համընդհանուր պարբերական դիտարկման Հայաստանի զեկույցի շրջանակներում ելույթ են ունեցել 71 երկրների ներկայացուցիչներ: Զեկույցի քննարկմանը կհաջորդի երկրների կողմից ներկայացված առաջարկությունների և զեկույցի ընդունումը:
