ООН: более 5,3 тыс. человек стали жертвами вооруженного конфликта на Украине

Число раненых достигло 12 235 человек. Жертвами вооруженного конфликта на Украине с середины апреля прошлого года стали 5358 человек. Об этом сообщило в Женеве управление верховного комиссара ООН по правам человека. По данным управления, число раненых за этот же период достигло 12 235 человек. Свыше 1,5 млн человек стали вынужденными переселенцами. Из них более 920 тыс. - внутренне перемещенные лица, еще около 600 тыс. укрылись на территории соседних стран, главным образом в России. "Возобновление боев на востоке страны (Украины) привело к новым перемещениям людей, гибели гражданского населения, разрушению инфраструктуры, что привело к росту гуманитарных потребностей", - отмечается в отчете. Верховный комиссар ООН по правам человека Зейд Раад аль-Хусейн призвал к прекращению боевых действий. "Дальнейшая эскалация конфликта будет катастрофой для 5,2 млн людей, живущих в зоне конфликта, - заявил он в Женеве. - Защита гражданского населения должна быть абсолютным приоритетом". Он также обратил внимание на тяжелое положение миллионов людей, живущих в зоне конфликта, в условиях суровой зимы, подчеркнув, что и без того трудное положение населения усугубилось из-за "решений правительства (Украины), приведших к ограничению свободы передвижения и социально-экономической изоляции".
