Ադրբեջանում նախագահ Ալիևի վարչակազմի քննադատների «բերանը փակելու» գործընթացը գնալով ավելի մեծ թափ է ստանում: Մի շարք եվրոպական պարբերականներ անդրադառնալով Ադրբեջանում ԶԼՄ-ներում տիրող մթնոլորտին նշել են, որ այդ իրավիճակը հիշեցնում է հետխորհրդային ժամանկաշրջանում լայն տարածում գտած այն ասացվածքը թե Ադրբեջանում հանրային քննարկման համար միակ անվտանգ թեման դարձել է եղանակը:
Երեկ պարզ դարձավ, որ Ադրբեջանի նախագահ Իլհամ Ալիևը ստորագրել է օրենք, որով ավելի է դյուրացվում այդ երկրում իշխանությունների կողմից լրատվամիջոցների փակման գործընթացը, մասնավորապես ՝ արտասահմանյան ֆինանսավորում ունեցող ԶԼՄ-ները:
Մամուլի մասին օրենքում կատարված փոփոխությունների համաձայն՝ ցանկացած լրատվամիջոց, որ արտասահմանյան ֆինանսավորում է ստանում կամ մեկ տարվա մեջ երկու անգամ մեղավոր է ճանաչվում զրպարտության համար, կարող է փակվել դատարանի որոշմամբ:
Ադրբեջանում ԶԼՄ-ների ազատության խնդիրն այնպիսին է, որ բամբասանքներն առավել հավաստի են, քան իրական լուրերը:
Ադրբեջանական իշխանությունները հույս ունեն, որ ներկայումս հայ-ադրբեջանական սահմանին տիրող լարված իրավիճակը կշեղի հասարակության ուշադրությունը ԶԼՄ-ների մասին մշակված նոր օրենքից:
Վերջերս միջազգային իրավապաշտպան Human Rights Watch կազմակերպությունը հրապարակել է աշխարհում մարդու իրավունքների իրավիճակի մասին զեկույցը, որում նշել է, որ Արևմուտքն անտեսում է Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների ոտնահարումները: Զեկույցում ասվում է, որ քննադատների ձայները խլացնելու համար ադրբեջանական իշխանություները նրանց դեմ թմրանյութեր և զենք պահելու կեղծ մեղադրանքներ են օգտագործում, մեղադրում խուլիգանության, և անգամ պետական դավաճանության մեջ:
Ի հեճուկս նման հայտարարությունների, Ադրբեջանի նախագահը հայտարարում է, որ Ադրբեջանում ազատ խոսքը 100 տոկոսով ապահովված է:
Twitter-ի իր էջում Ալիևը նշել էր, որ «Ադրբեջանը մի երկիր է, որը հաջողությամբ անցել է ժողովրդավարության, անկախության և զարգացման ուղին»:
