Երևանում կտեղադրվի հրապարակախոս, թարգմանիչ Սամվել Մկրտչյանի հուշատախտակը
Փետրվարի 10–ին կայացած Երևան քաղաքի ավագանու 5-րդ նստաշրջանի 1-ին նիստում ավագանին հաստատեց գրող, հրապարակախոս, թարգմանիչ Սամվել Մկրտչյանի հիշատակը հավերժացնող հուշատախտակի տեղադրման մասին որոշման նախագիծը։
Հուշատախտակը նախատեսվում է տեղադրել Գայի պողոտա հ. 27 հասցեում։
Գրող, բանաստեղծ, թարգմանիչ Սամվել Մկրտչյանը ծնվել է 1959թ. Թալինում։
Ավարտել է Լենինականի /այժմ՝ Գյումրի/ թիվ 20 միջնակարգ դպրոցը, այնուհետև, 1983թ., Երևանի Վ. Բրյուսովի անվան օտար լեզուների ինստիտուտը։
Աշխատել է «Աստղիկ» հանդեսում, ապա եղել է ետխորհրդային մամուլի առաջին՝ «Անդրադարձ», «Ար», «Բանբեր» թերթերի գլխավոր խմբագիրը՝ իր ներդրումն ունենալով անկախության հաստատման շրջանի մամուլի կայացման գործում։
Սամվել Մկրտչյանի ձեռագրի և սկզբունքների շնորհիվ հիշյալ պարբերականները կմնան հայկական մամուլի պատմության մեջ իրապես չորրորդ իշխանության՝ հրապարակախոսության, ազատախոհության, գրական ճաշակի չափանիշներ սահմանող նմուշներ։
Սամվել Մկրտչյանն աշխատել է «Առավոտ» օրաթերթում և Հայաստանի ԳՄ պաշտոնաթերթ «Գրական թերթ»-ում։ Հայաստանում և արտերկրում հրապարակվել են Սամվել Մկրտչյանի հեղինակած հարյուրավոր հրապարակախոսական հոդվածներ, բանաստեղծություններ, պատմվածքներ։
1995թ. Սամվել Մկրտչյանը Հայաստանի գրողների միության անդամ էր։ 2002թ. հիմնել և մինչև 2014թ. խմբագրել է «Արտասահմանյան գրականություն» թարգմանական եռամսյա հանդեսը։ Պարգևատրվել է ՀՀ մշակույթի նախարարության «Գրիգոր Նարեկացի» հուշամեդալով, եղել է «Կանթեղ» մրցանակի դափնեկիր։ Իռլանդիայի մայրաքաղաք Դուբլինում՝ Ջեյմս Ջոյսի թանգարանում, Սամվել Մկրտչյանի «Ուլիսեսի» հայերեն թարգմանությունն իր պատվավոր տեղն ունի այդ գրքի եզակի թարգմանությունների շարքում։
«Ուլիսեսի» թարգմանությունը գրական սխրանք էր, որով հայ ժողովուրդը վերահաստատեց մշակութաստեղծ ժողովուրդների շարքում լինելու իր իրավունքը։ Սամվել Մկրտչյանը հայտնի է Շեքսպիրի, Վիլյամ Սարոյանի, Լուիս Քերոլի, Ռեդյարդ Քիփլինգի, Վիլյամ Ֆոլքների, Հերման Մելվիրի և այլ գրողների ստեղծագործությունների թարգմանություններով։ Կատարել է նաև հայերենից անգլերեն թարգմանություններ։ Սամվել Մկրտչյանը մահացել է 2014թ. դեկտեմբերի 7-ին Երևանում:
