Կոլումբիայում Bogoto Externado համալսարանի և Անկարայի համալսարանի կողմից մի տարօրինակ խորագրով' «1915. Օսմանյան կայսրության ամենաերկար տարին» սիմպոզիում է անցկացվել, որին մասնակցել է Թուրքիայի նախագահ Ռեջեփ Թայիփ Էրդողանը: Նա առիթը բաց չի թողել Հայոց ցեղասպանության վերաբերյալ թուրքական ժխտողական տեսակետն առաջ տանելու և քննադատության արժանացած իր գործողություններին «արդարացումներ» փնտրելու համար: Նա նշել է, թե Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարյուրերորդ տարելիցը խորհրդաշնող օրը' ապրիլի 24-ին, Հայաստանի նախագահին Չանաքքալե հրավիրելը երկու երկրների միջև հարաբերությունների բարելավման փորձ է եղել: Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, այս մասին տեղեկացնում է թուրքական Haberler.com-ը:
Հիշեցնելով, որ այս տարի լրանում է «1915 թվականի դեպքերի 100-րդ տարին», Էրդողանը կրկին փորձել է հավասարության նշան դնել զոհի և ցեղասպանողի միջև: Նա չի զլացել կրկին խոսել արխիվները բացելու և պատմական իրադարձություններն ուսումնասիրելու մասին: «Եթե հայկական սփյուռքն անկեղծ է, արդար է, մենք բաց ենք անում մեր բոլոր արխիվները: Ներկայում ուսումնասիրված փաստաթղթերի քանակը հասնում է մեկ միլիոնի: Եթե Հայաստանն էլ ունի նման փաստաթղթեր, նյութեր, թող նրանք էլ բացեն, եթե երրորդ երկրներ կան, նրանք էլ: Եկեք հանձնարարենք պատմաբաններին, քաղաքագետներին, իրավաբաններին, թող աշխատեն: Երբ կվերջացնեն պատրաստությունները, թող գան ու դրանք տան քաղաքական գործիչներին»,- ասել է Էրդողանը' կարծիք հայտնելով այն մասին, թե սխալ է պատմությունը խորհրդարաններում քննարկելը: Թուրքիայի նախագահը մեղադրել է հայկական սփյուռքին իրենց դեմ «սև քարոզչություն» իրականացնելու մեջ: Էրդողանը նորից պնդել է, թե թուրքական կողմը «Հայաստանին ձեռք է մեկնել, որը, մասամբ նաև հայկական սփյուռքի ազդեցությամբ, մնացել է անպատասխան»:
