Боевики экстремистской организации "Исламское государство" атаковали авиабазу Айн-Аль-Асад на западе Ирака, где находятся более 300 морпехов США, прибывших в Ирак в качестве военных инструкторов, сообщает в пятницу телеканал "Скай-ньюс Арабийя", вещающий из Абу-Даби на арабском языке.
"Убиты восемь боевиков "даиш" ("Исламского государства" — ред), обмотанных взрывчаткой, которые пытались проникнуть на базу Айн-Аль-Асад", сообщил телеканал со ссылкой на военный источник в провинции Аль-Анбар, где находится авиабаза. По данным телеканала, перед штурмом авиабаза подверглась плотному ракетно-минометному обстрелу.
Накануне боевики захватили большую часть расположенного рядом с базой города Аль-Багдади, осада которого длилась несколько месяцев. Информацию о захвате Аль-Багдади подтвердил иракскому агентству Аль-Ихбарийя в пятницу шейх местного суннитского племени Альбу Намир.
"В настоящее время в Аль-Багдади направляется танковая бригада на помощь подразделениям иракской армии, полиции и ополченцам, пытающимся освободить районы Дуляб, Махбубийя и Касрийят в направлении города Хитю", — сообщил телеканалу военный источник в провинции Аль-Анбар.
Провинция Аль-Анбар граничит на западе с Сирией и Иорданией, расположенные там города Эль-Фаллуджа и Эр-Рамади первыми в Ираке подверглись нападению боевиков ИГ в начале 2014 года. До сих пор более двух третей провинции находится под контролем боевиков, в городах и селах провинции ежедневно происходят столкновения между армией и боевиками ИГ.
