ԱՄՆ ներկայացուցիչների պալատի արտաքին հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովում փետրվարի 12-ին Ադրբեջանում մարդու իրավունքների և մամուլի ազատության աղետալի վիճակի հետ կապված լսումներ են անցկացվել:
Ինչպես հաղորդում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, պաշտոնական Բաքուն դարձյալ քննադատության է ենթարկվել մամուլի և քաղաքացիական հասարակության ազատությունը ճնշելու համար:
Ուշագրավ է, որ չնայած հրավերին, ԱՄՆ-ում Ադրբեջանի դեսպանը և այլ պաշտոնական անձինք չեն ներկայացել լսումներին' այն դեպքում, երբ դեսպանատան աշխատակիցները և իշխանամետ ԶԼՄ-ները ներկա են եղել և գրանցել են լսումները:
Մասաչուսեթսից կոնգրեսական Վիլյամ Քիտինգը ԱՄՆ նախագահ Բարաք Օբամայի վարչախմբից պահանջել է «հստակ նշել Բաքվում լրագրողների ձերբակալությունների և հակաամերիկյան արշավներրի անթույլատրելիությունը և Ալիևի կառավարության հետ իր շփումներում անհանգստություն հայտնել այդ կապացությամբ»:
Վուդրո Վիլսոնի միջազգային կենտրոնի մասնագետ, Քեննանի ինստիտուտի փորձագետ Օդրի Օլշթադտը հայտարարել է, որ «այսօր Ադրբեջանը ժողովրդավարական երկիր չէ», «այդ երկրի կառավարությունը սիստեմատիկորեն հեռանում է ժողովրդավարական նորմերից», և որ «ԱՄՆ-ը չպետք ների մարդու իրավունքների խախտումները և ավելի ուժեղ պաշտպանի դեմոկրատական շարժումներն Ադրբեջանում»:
Նշելով, որ Ադրբեջանում բռնատիրությունը սկսել է ավելի մեծ թափ առնել 2003 թվականին Ալիևի նախագահ դառնալուց հետո, Օլշթադտն ասել է, որ ներկայում այդ երկրում մոտ 100 քաղբանտարկյալ կան, այդ թվում' իրավապաշտպաններ, լրագրողներ և իրավաբաններ, ինչը չափազանց վտանգավոր է: Նա հիշեցրել է, որ այդ բռնաճնշումներն ավելի են աճել 2013 թվականին Ալիևի նախագահության երրորդ ժամկետից հետո:
Օլշտադտը շեշտել է նաև, որ վերջին շրջանում Ադրբեջանի իշխանությունները գրոհ են սկսել ԱՄՆ-ի վրա' մեղադրելով այն բանում, որ, իբր, «Վաշինգտոնը ձգտում է ապակայունացնել Ալիևի կառավարությունը և իրավիճակն Ադրբեջանում»:
Ադրբեջանում ԱՄՆ-ի նախկին դեսպան Ռիչարդ Կոզլարիչը հայտարարել է, որ Ալիևի քաղաքական խորհրդականների գործողությունները ավերել են ԱՄՆ-ի և Ադրբեջանի միջև հարաբերությունների լավացման ուղղությամբ երկու տասնյակ տարվա ջանքերը:
Նշելով, որ աշխարհաքաղաքական և գլոբալ էներգետիկ իրավիճակը փոխվել է, Կոզլարիչն ասել է, որ Ադրբեջանի, ինչպես նաև Կասպյան տարածաշրջանի դերն ու նշանակությունն ԱՄՆ-ի համար արդեն այնքան էլ կարևոր չէ' ԱՄՆ-ի էներգաանվտանգության տեսանկյունից:
«Ներկայում իրավիճակն Ադրբեջանում ամենավատն է անցյալ բոլոր ժամանակների հետ համեմատած: Եթե առաջընթաց չլինի և ազատ չարձակվեն բոլոր քաղբանտարկյալները, ԱՄՆ-ի կառավարությունը պետք է վերանայի այդ բոլոր ձերբակալությունների համար պատասխանատու պաշտոնատար անձանց դեմ պատժամիջոցներ մտցնելու հարցը:
ԱՄՆ ներկայացուցիչների պալատում երեկ «Ադրբեջան. ԱՄՆ-ի շահերը էներգետիկայի, անվտանգության և մարդու իրավունքների ոլորտում» թեմայով անցկացված լսումներում ելույթ է ունեցել նաև Ջոն Հոփկինսի համալսարանի Կենտրոնական Ասիայի և Կովկասի ինստիտուտի տնօրեն Սվանտե Կորնելը:
Ադրբեջանական ԶԼՄ-ները հայտնում են, որ ի պատասխան ԱՄՆ կոնգրեսում կազմակերպված այդ լսումներին, ադբեջանա-ամերիկյան հարաբերությունների գծով վաղը լսումներ է կազմակերպել նաև Ադրբեջանի խորհրդարանի միջազգային հարաբերությունների հանձնաժողովը, որին պետք է մասնակցեն 35 պատգամավոր, ՀԿ-ների ղեկավարներ և քաղաքական կուսակցությունների ներկայացուցիչներ:
