Անցյալ տարվա մարտից Գվինեայում ամեն ամիս շուրջ տասը հարձակում Է կատարվում Կարմիր խաչի կամավորների վրա, որոնք աշխատում են Էբոլա վիրուսի տարածման շրջաններում: Այս մասին, ինչպես տեղեկացնում է «Արմենպրես»-ը, հայտնել են Կարմիր խաչի եւ Կարմիր մահիկի ընկերությունների միջազգային ֆեդերացիայի՝ Ժնեւի կենտր ոնակայանում:
Մասնագետներն Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդությունը համարում են «հպումների հիվանդություն»: Էբոլան փոխանցվում Է ախտահարված մարդու արյան եւ արտաթորանքների հետ ուղղակի շփման ժամանակ կամ ախտահարված մակերեսների եւ բժշկական գործիքների միջոցով: Էբոլայով վարակման առավել տիպական եղանակը ծեսերն են, այսինքն՝ երբ ինչ-որ մեկը մահացել Է, եւ անհրաժեշտ Է կատարել դիակի լվացում:
Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդության նոր դեպքերը, որոնք նկատվում են վերջին ժամանակներս, «սովորաբար առաջացել են ոչ անվտանգ թաղումներից, որոնք, հնարավոր Է՝ կատարվել են գաղտնի», օրերս Ժնեւում կայացած մամուլի ասուլիսում հայտարարել Է Էբոլա վիրուսի դեմ պայքարի գծով ՄԱԿ-ի գլխավոր քարտուղարի հատուկ դեսպանորդ Դեւիդ Նաբառոն: Կամավորները փորձում են տեղացի բնակիչներին հասցնել Առողջապահության համաշխարհային կազմակերպության մշակած «անվտանգ թաղման» կանոնները: Սակայն հաճախ նրանց ենթարկում են վիրավորանքների եւ ծեծում են:
«Գվինեայում Կարմիր խաչի կամավորներն աշխատում են զօր ու գիշեր, որպեսզի ապահովեն մարդկանց անվտանգությունը: Նրանց դեմ բռնությունը բացարձակապես անթույլատրելի Է»,- հայտարարել Է Գվինեայի Կարմիր խաչի ընկերության նախագահ Յուսուֆ Տրաորեն: Հիվանդությունը չի հաջողվի կանգնեցնել, քանի դեռ մարդիկ սխալ պատկերացում կունենան դրա մասին եւ կխոչընդոտեն կամավորների աշխատանքին, ընդգծել Է նա:
Ինչպես նշում Է ՏԱՍՍ-ը, Էբոլա վիրուսի հարուցած հիվանդությունն արդեն ավելի քան 9 հազար մարդու կյանք Է խլել: Գվինեայում վարակվել Է ավելի քան 3 հազար մարդ, իսկ մահացածների թիվը գերազանցում Է 2 հազարը:
