Դաունի համախտանիշով ծնված Լեոյի մայրըˋ հայազգի Ռուզաննա Բադալյանը, միացել է երեխայի հորˋ նորզելանդացի Սամուել Ֆորեսթի հետ և մտադիր է տեղափոխվել Նոր Զելանդիա: «Արմենպրես»-ի փոխանցմամբˋայս մասին հայտնում է Stuff.co.nz կայքըˋ վկայակոչելով իր աղբյուրները: Զույգը մտադիր է երեխային մեծացնել Օքլենդում: Կայքի հաղորդմամբˋ Ռուզան Բադալյանը դիմել է Նոր Զելանդիայո ւմ բնակվելու թույլտվություն ստանալու համար: «Նրանք ցանկանում են երեխային մեծացնել Նոր Զելանդիայում, սակայն ամեն ինչ կախված է նրանից' Նոր Զելանդիայի միգրացիոն ծառայությունը դա օրինական կհամարի՞, թե ոչ»,- ասել է անանուն աղբյուրը:
Ֆորեսթն իր պատմությունը տեղադրել էր «GoFundMe»-ի դրամահավաք իրականացնող կայքում, որի արդյունքում հանգանակվել էր ավելի քան 664 հազար դոլար: «GoFundMe»-ի խոսնակը նշել, է որ իրենք չեն կարող մեկնաբանելˋ արդյո՞ք զույգը կեղծ պատմություն է ներկայացրել դոնորներին, թե ոչ: «Եթե նվիրատուները որևէ մտահոգություն ունեն այս արշավի կապակցությամբ, նրանք ցանկացած պահի կարող են կապ հաստատել մեզ հետ և փոխհատուցում պահանջել»,- ասել է խոսնակը:
2015 թվականի տարեսկզբին համաշխարհային և հայկական մամուլը ցնցեց նորզելանդացի Սամուել Ֆորեսթի պատմությունը, ով իր հայազգի կնոջը մեղադրում էր դաունի համաշխտանիշով ծնված իրենց նորածին երեխային նրա ծնունդից' հունվարի 21-ից 1 շաբաթ անց, հրաժարվելու մեջ: Նրա խոսքով, Բադալյանի ընտանիքը ամաչում էր, որ երեխան դաունի համախտանիշով է ծնվել:
Երեխայի մայրըˋ Ռուզանա Բադալյանը, պատասխանել էր ամուսնուն «Ֆեյսբուք» սոցիալական ցանցի միջոցով' նշելով, որ Լեոն ավելի լավ կյանք կունենա Նոր Զելանդիայում, որտեղ պայմանները շատ ավելի լավն են, քան իր հ արազատ Հայաստանում: Նրա խոսքովˋ ինքը բախվել էր «կյանքի ամենադաժան որոշման հետ»:
