Եվրոպական ժողովրդական կուսակցությունն այսօր իր քաղաքական համաժողովի բանաձևով վերահաստատեց այն հանգամանքը, որ եվրոպական քաղաքականությունը խարսխված է նաև արժեքների վրա,- «Sputnik-Արմենիա» ռադիոկայանին տված հարցազրույցում, Բրյուսելից հաղորդեց ՀՀ Կրթության և գիտության նախարար Արմեն Աշոտյանը: Դժվար է գերագնահատել այս բանաձևի կարևորությունը` հաշվի առնելով ԵԺԿ-ի առաջատար դերը Եվրոպական միության կառույցներում և այն հանգամանքը, որ հայաստանյան երեք կուսակցությունները անդամակցում են ԵԺԿ ին: Իհարկե դա իր դրական ազդեցությունն էր ունեցել բանաձևի վրա, և ոչ միայն ցեղասպանության հետ կապված: Հայաստանին և հայերին վերաբերող հարցերի քննարկման ընթացքում դրական վերաբերմունք և արդյունքներ ձևավորելու տեսակետից սա նույնպես կարևոր է:
«Կարծում եմ, որ բանաձևը լավ գործիք կարող է դառնալ մեր ձեռքերում եվրոպական այլ հարթակներում Հայոց ցեղասպանության միջազգային ճանաչման, դատապարտման, ժխտողականության դատապարտման և դրանց վերացման համար: Իհարկե աշխատանքներ պետք է տարվեն բոլոր ուղղություններով` ինչպես ազգային մակարդակներում, այնպես էլ եվրոպական կառույցներում, սակայն այսօրվա բանաձը ևս մեկ լուրջ պլատֆորմ է հանդիսանալու մեր դիվանագետների, խորհրդարանականների, այլ պատկան մարմինների համար` եվրոպական ինստիտուտներում միջազգային ճանաչման հետագա քայլերի համար»:
«Բանաձևը իր բովանդակությամբ բավականին լուրջ փաստաթուղթ է, և ուզում եմ հատուկ շեշտել, որ այս փաստաթղթում օգտագործված են համահայկական հռչակագրի հիմնական դրույթները, ինչը ևս մեկ անգամ ապացուցում է, որ համահայկական հռչակագիրը կիրառական բնույթի լրջագույն փաստաթուղթ է»:
Վստահաբար սա խոշոր հաջողություն կարելի է դիտարկել, բայց ոչ թե հանգիստ շունչ քաշելու տրամադրվածությամբ, այլ հետագա աշխատանքները այդ հունով շարունակելու համար,- նկատեց Արմեն Աշոտյանը, և հավելեց, որ իհարկե պատահական չէ, որ այս բանաձևը ընդունվել է այսօր` ոգեկոչման միջոցառումներից մոտ մեկ ամիս առաջ և կրում է շատ խորհրդանշական վերնագիր` «Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը և Եվրոպական արժեքները»:
Բնական է, որ թուրքական քաղաքականությունից դժվար է ակնկալել որևէ քայլ, որը կարող էր հույս ներշնչել, որ Թուրքիան եվրոպականանում է, և պատրաստ է առերեսվել իր անցյալին և անցյալը հաղթահարելով կառուցել նոր հարաբերություններ իր հարևաններից մեկի` Հայաստանի հետ: Հասկանալով, որ սա ուղիղ հարված է Թուրքիային, բնական է, որ կանխատեսելի են թուրքական քաղաքական շրջանակների արձագանքները, հակազդեցությունն այս ուղղությամբ, բայց նաև ակնհայտ է, որ Թուրքիան բավականին լուրջ հարված ստացավ նաև այսօրվա բանաձևով, քանի որ, նաև իրեն ուղված բազմաթիվ կոչեր կան այնտեղ: Սակայն, իրականում նպատակը Թուրքիային հարվածելը չէր, այլ օգնել թուրք հասարակությանը, առերեսելով սեփական անցյալին, կառուցել իրական եվրոպական ապագա` նաև իր հարևանների հետ տարվող քաղաքականության շրջանակներում:
