Այսօր՝ մարտի 20–ին, Հայաստանի տարածքում կդիտվի եզակի աստղագիտական երևույթ ՝ Արեգակի լրիվ խավարում: Լուսնի ստվերը կանցնի հյուսիսային կիսագնդի տարածքով։ Խավարումը կսկսվի Ատլանտյան օվկիանոսի տարածքում` Կանադայի ափից դեպի արևելք և, անցնելով Գրենլանդիայի հյուսիսային հատվածի վրայով, կավարտվի Սառուցյալ օվկիանոսի տարածքում` մեր երկրագնդի հյուսիսային բևեռից ոչ հեռու։

Արևի վերին հատվածի մոտ 20 տոկոսը կփակվի, և դա կտևի 1 ժամ 40 րոպե, այսինքն` առավելագույն խավարման սկզբից 50 րոպե և 50 րոպե դրանից հետո։ Խավարումը նկատելի կլինի Երևանի ժամանակով ժամը 13։34–ից։ Եթե երկինքը պարզ լինի, ապա արևային խավարումը նկատելի կլինի Հայաստանի ողջ տարածքում։

Եվրոպայի հյուսիսային մասում կգրանցվի ամբողջական խավարում։

Հայաստանում նման մասշտաբի արևի խավարում վերջին անգամ գրանցվել է 1999թ.–ի օգոստոսին։ Այդ ժամանակ լուսինը ծածկել էր արևի ավելի քան 90 տոկոսը։

Խավարման ամբողջական փուլի առավելագույն տևողությունն է 2 րոպե 47 վայրկյան։ Ֆարերյան կղզիներում և Շպիցբերգենում կարելի է հետևել խավարման ամբողջական փուլին։
