Երևանի գլխավոր ճարտարապետ Տիգրան Բարսեղյանը հյուրընկալել է հաշմանդամների իրավունքների միջազգային շարժման առաջնորդներից մեկին` Վիկտոր Փինեդային, ով Երևան է ժամանել հաշմանդություն ունեցող անձանց համար հասանելիության ընլայնման հարցերի շուրջ հանդիպումներ կազմակերպելու նպատակով։

Ողջունելով հյուրին Երևանի քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանի անունից՝ Երևանի գլխավոր ճարտարապետ Տիգրան Բարսեղյանը համառոտ ներկայացրել է Երևանի գլխավոր հատակագիծը և նշել, որ փաստաթղթում հատուկ ուշադրություն է դարձվել քաղաքային միջավայրը հաշմանդամություն ունեցող անձանց հնարավորին հասանելի դարձնելու խնդիրներին` վկայակոչելով արդեն կյանքի կոչված մի շարք ծրագրեր: Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի արտաքին կապերի վարչության պետ Դավիթ Գևորգյանն էլ նշել է, որ Երևանի քաղաքապետարանը ՀՀ-ում ԱՄՆ դեսպանատան հետ համագործակցության հարուստ փորձ ունի և հույս հայտնել, որ, հաշմանդամություն ունեցող անձանց խնդիրների լուծմանը առավելագույն չափով նպաստելու առումով, այս հանդիպումը ևս կտա արդյունքներ:

Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի սոցիալական ապահովության վարչության պետ Ռուզաննա Զաքարյանն անդրադարձել է այն ծրագրային առաջնահերթություններին, որոնք Երևանի ավագանու որոշումներով տարեցտարի կյանքի են կոչվում: Հատկանշվել է, որ Երևանի քաղաքապետ Տարոն Մարգարյանի հանձնարարությամբ խստորեն վերահսկվում են ոլորտում իրականացվող բոլոր աշխատանքները` առաջնահերթությունը տալով քաղաքաշինական, սոցիալական, առողջապահական և սոցիալական բաղադրիչներին: Կարևորվել է այն հանգամանքը, որ բոլոր նախաձեռնությունները կյանքի կոչելիս հատուկ հաշվի են առնվում ոլորտի ՀԿ-ների կարծիքներն ու առաջարկները:

Շնորհակալություն հայտնելով ջերմ ընդունելության համար՝ Կալիֆորնիայի համալսարանի քաղաքային և տարածաշրջանային պլանավորման բաժանմունքի դասախոս, Ամերիկյան համալսարանի միջազգային ծառայության դպրոցի համեմատական հաշմանդամության քաղաքականության ծրագրի դասախոս և Հաշմանադամության համաշխարհային ինստիտուտի գիտաշխատող Վիկտոր Փինեդան նշել է, որ, ընդամենը մեկ օր գտնվելով Երևանում, համոզվել է, թե քաղաքային իշխանությունները որքան մեծ ուշադրություն են դարձնում հատուկ կարիքներ ունեցող մարդկանց խնդիրներին:

Ամերիկացի հյուրը մասնավորեցրել է իր դիտարկումները քաղաքային միջավայրի հասանելիության, փողոցներում ու գետնանցումներում ազատ տեղաշարժի ապահովման, քաղաքային տրանսպորտում հաշմանդամասայլակով տեղաշարժվելու հնարավորության և այլ բաղադրիչների առումով: Վիկտոր Փինեդան հույս է հայտնել, որ Երևանի քաղաքապետարանի հետ հետագա համագործակցությունը կլինի կառուցողական և իր մասնագիտական գիտելիքներն ու նպաստը կբերի հատուկ կարիքներով անձանց համար իրագործվող քաղաքային ծրագրերին:
