Judge Reportedly Dismisses Kesha's Case Against Sony With a Very Questionable Comment About Rape
LifestyleA New York state judge has thrown out Kesha's case against Sony, TMZ reports. Kesha, who claims that the recording company made her a "slave" and Dr. Luke her "master," failed to get an emergency order to break her contract with Sony on grounds that Dr. Luke allegedly sexually abused her. On Wednesday, the judge sided entirely with Sony and rejected all of Kesha's claims. As TMZ reports, the "slavery" argument did not fly with the judge because Sony did not force her to work exclusively with Dr. Luke. The judge also dismissed Kesha's allegation that she was the victim of a hate crime: "Although [Luke's] alleged actions were directed to Kesha, who is female, [her claims] do not allege that [Luke] harbored animus toward women or was motivated by gender animus when he allegedly behaved violently toward Kesha." According to TMZ, the judge concluded the case by declaring that "Every rape is not a gender-motivated hate crime."
The dismissal comes days after Kesha revealed on Instagram that she was offered freedom "if i were to lie" and "apologize publicly and say that I never got raped."
