 ՀՀ երկորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի հարցազրույցը նոր հարցեր ու հարցականներ է առաջացրել, որը դեռ երկար ժամանակ կշարունակի մնալ հասարակական-քաղաքական քննարկումների պատճառ:

Ուշագրավ շատ հարցերից էր նաև հարցազրույցի ժամանակ հնչեցրած՝ վարչապետի իր աթոռը Կարեն Կարապետյանին հանձնելու մասին թեզը: Շատերի համար այդպես էլ պարզ չդարձավ, թե ինչպես կարող էր Կարեն Կարապետյանին վարչապետ նշանակելու հարցը իրականություն չդառնալ, այն դեպքում, երբ ԱԺ-ն մեծ հաշվով Ս. Սարգսյանի և իր թիմի վերահսկողության տակ էր:

«Երևանի մամուլի ակումբի» նախագահ Բորիս Նավասարդյանը համոզված է, որ միայն միամիտ մարդիկ կհավատան ՀՀ 3-րդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանի այն հայտարարությանը, թե հրաժարական տալով չի ակնկալել, որ ՀՀ վարչապետ կդառնա Նիկոլ Փաշինյանը: Նա նաև չի հավատում, որ եթե Սարգսյանը մնար իր պաշտոնում, ապա ավարտին կհասցներ բանակցային գործընթացը և Հայաստանը կստանար այն ամենը, ինչ պետք էր, այսինքն՝ Արցախի անկախությունը:

«Ես կարծում եմ, որ այն քաղաքականությունը, որը Արցախի հարցում իրականացնում էր Սերժ Սարգսյանը, դա ստատուս-քվոի պահպանումն էր, բայց կյանքը ցույց տվեց, որ թե՛ նրա, թե՛ նրանից հետո եկած իշխանությունների հաշվարկները սխալ էին: Ինչ վերաբերում է Արցախի հարցին, ապա այն հիմնականում շահարկվում էր ներքին քաղաքական պայքարի համար, քանի որ բոլոր երեք նախագահներն էլ բանակցել են հողերը հանձնելու համաձայնության օգտին: Ես համոզված եմ, որ 98-ի Լ. Տեր-Պետրոսյանի հրաժարականը առաջին հերթին պայմանավորված էր ոչ թե Արցախի հարցի շուրջ առկա հակասություններով, այլ հասունացել էր այն պահանջը, որ պետությունը պետք է այլ առաջնորդ ունենա: Ինչ վերաբեում է երկրորդ և երրորդ նախագահների կողմից վարած արտաքին քաղաքականությանը, ապա պետք է հաշվի առնել, որ վերջին 25 տարիների ընթացքում վարվող քաղաքականությունը տանում էր դեպի պատերազմ, բայց ներկա իշխանություններն այնքան ապաշնորհ գտնվեցին, որ հենց նրանց ժամանակ դա տեղի ունեցավ»,- ասաց Բ. Նավասարդյանը:
