Հայոց ցեղասպանության հիշատակի օրը` ապրլի 24-ին, փաստաբանական միջազգային հանրությունը հավաքվել էր Երևանում` ՀՀ փաստաբանների պալատում: Ինչպես արդեն տեղեկացրել էինք, հանդիպման ընթացքում տարբեր երկրների ներկայացուցիչները քննարկեցին արդարադատության ու փաստաբանական գործունեության հետ կապված մի շարք արդի խնդիրներ: Ակտիվ կերպով քննարկվեց նաեւ Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման հարցը:

Orer.am-ի հետ զրույցում Փարիզի փաստաբանների պալատի նախագահ Պիեռ Օլիվիե Սյուրն, անդրադառնալով Հայոց ցեղասպանության ճանաչման հարցին, նշեց, որ մի շարք երկրների փաստաբանների վերաբերմունքն ու տեսակետը՝ կապված 1915 թվականին Օսմանյան Թուրքիայի գործողությունների հետ, փոխվել են. «Պետք է նկատեմ, որ հայ ժողովուրդը ճիշտ քայլերով է առաջ գնում, օրինակ` հայերն ունեն այնպիսի փաստաբան, ինչպիսին է պարոն Վենսանտ Նիորեն. նա հայտնի հայ փաստաբան է Փարիզում, ով մշտապես շատ ճիշտ կերպով է ներկայացնում Հայոց ցեղասպանության հարցը: Փաստաբանների կարծիքն ամբողջ աշխարհում արդեն փոխվել է, եւ դա իհարկե պայմանավորված է ձեր քայլերով: Հայ ազգը պետք է շարունակի նույն ոգով եւ հավատա, որ պայքարի միոջոցով կարելի է հասնել այն նպատակին, որը դրված է ազգի առջեւ: Հայերը պետք է իրավական ճանապարհով կարողանան ճանաչել տալ Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը»,- նշեց Պիեռ Օլիվիե Սյուր:

Նա հանդես եկավ նաեւ կոչով. «Ես կոչ եմ անում Թուրքիային, որպեսզի նա ցավակցի հայ ժողովրդին եւ ճանաչի Հայոց ցեղասպանությունը, և դիմի այդ քայլին հնարավորինս շուտ, քանի որ դա նրանց պետական մեղքն է եղել: Իրադարձությունները վաղուց վերջացել են, սակայն ապագայի ճանապարհին Թուրքիան պետք է ընդունի այն, ինչն իրականում եղել է: Այդ պետությունը պետք է ընդունի եւ հաշվի նստի իր եւ հայ ժողովրդի պատմության բոլոր էջերի հետ: Օրինակ` Ֆրանսիան մշտապես հաշվի է նստել իր պատմության եւ կատարած քայլերի հետ, սխալ քայլերն ընդունել ենք ու ներողություն խնդրել, եւ նույն տրամաբանությամբ էլ շարունակում ենք ապրել:

Թուրքիան պետք է հետեւի եւ գործի քաղաքակիրթ երկրների օրինակով: Իհարկե, այն մեծ երկիր է, բայց դա չի նշանակում, որ պետք է ձեռքերը լվանա եւ հետ կանգնի իր պատմությունից, ընդհակառակը, Թուրքիան պետք է ընդունի իր մեղքը, ինչպես դա արեց այնպիսի խոշոր պետություն, ինչպիսին Գերմանիան է»:
