Աշխարհի ամենաշքեղ թռչող նավի պատմությունը՝ The Daily Mail-ի ֆոտոշարքում (լուսանկարներ)

Հեռավոր 1929թ. իր առաջին թռիչքն է իրականացրել աշխարհում ամենաշքեղ թռչող նավը, որն անարգել կարող էր ճեղքել ծովի փրփրադեզ ալիքներն ու նույնպիսի հեշտությամբ կարող էր ճախրել կապույտ երկնքում:

Ինչպես նշում է The Daily Mail-ը, մոտ 100 տարի առաջ ներկայացված թռչող նավը կրել է Dornier Do-X անվանումը՝ ի պատիվ իր ստեղծողի՝ դիզայներ Կլաուդիուս Դորնյեի:

70-100 ուղևորի համար նախատեսված ունիվերսալ փոխադրամիջոցն այն ժամանակվա համար համալրված է եղել լիարժեք հանգստի համար անհրաժեշտ բոլոր պայմաններով:

Նշվում է, որ Dornier Do-X-ը կշռել է 61 տոննա, դրա թևերի բացվածքը եղել է 54մ: Այն ունեցել է 12 հզոր շարժիչ ու կարողացել է առավելագույնն օդ բարձրանալ 502 մ բարձրության վրա:

Աղբյուրը մանրամասնում է, որ թռչող նավի կառուցումը ֆինանսավորել է Գերմանիայի տրանսպորտի նախարարությունը, իսկ շինարարական աշխատանքները ստանձնել են շվեյցարացիները:

այտնի է, որ ԱՄՆ-ի, Եվրոպայի ու Աֆրիկայի տարածքներում բազում ճամփորդություններ իրականացրած փոխադրամիջոցը կարողացել է հրաշքով խուսափել մի շարք ողբերգական վթարներից, որոնց պատճառով մարդկանց հետաքրքրությունը դրա նկատմամբ կորել է: Դրա հետևանքով 1930-ական թվականների կեսերին Dornier Do-X-ը դուրս է եկել շահագործումից:

Though it wasn't the first seaplane, it was the first of its size and luxury. It was designed and named after German engineer Dr Claude Dornie. This picture was taken in September 27, 1930

The 70 to 100 passengers on-board were treated to a luxurious experience as they had comfortable seats and top-notch service, as seen above en route to the United States

Passengers on board the Dornier Do-X had access to a dining salon (pictured above), a wet bar and a smoking lounge

An operator would man a radio onboard the aircraft to listen out for and make any necessary transmissions

It was an exceptionally large flying boat, weighing in at 61 tons, with a wingspan of 157 feet, it had 12 engines and could reach an altitude of 1650 feet

The design of the the engines came from Germany but used powerful American motors to lift it to an altitude of 1,650 feet in the air
