Երևանում սկզբունքորեն նոր տրանսպորտային ցանցի ներդրաման համար անհրաժեշտ է նախնական հաշվարկներով 80-100 միլիոն դոլար: Այս հաշվարկները շատ մոտավոր են և պատկանում են ի դեպ քաղաքապետարանին: Բնականաբար այստեղ խոսքը գնում է ոչ թե տրանսպորտային պարկի թարմացման, այլ լիովին այլ ստանդարտներով գործող ուղևորափոխադրման համակարգի ներդրման մասին, եթե կուզեք՝ զարգացած երկրների ստանդարտներին համապատասխան համակարգի: Այս նպատակի համար, համաձայն քաղաքապետարանի, Երևանի ղեկավարությունը ձգտում է ներգրավել բազմաթիվ դոնոր կազմակերպությունների:

Խորհրդային շրջանում նման նախագծեր եղել են: Ի դեպ, ոչ վաղ անցյալում էլ Կոմունիստական կուսակցության նախընտրական ծրագրում կար մետրոյի կայանների ավելացման կետ: Սակայն եկեք, ինչպես ասում են, «ծուռ նստենք, դուզ խոսենք». այսօր ո՛չ Երևանի, ո՛չ էլ Հայաստանի բյուջեն չունի նման ծախսեր կատարելու հնարավորություն՝ անկախ նրանից, թե որ քաղաքական ուժը կլինի իշխանության ղեկին, ի վերջո, երկիրն ունի իր տնտեսական հնարավորությունները: Այսինքն սա նշանակում է, որ մետրոյի նոր կայարանի խոստումն ընդամենը սովորական նախընտրական քարոզչական հնարք է կամ այլ, կերպ ասած, պոպուլիզմ:
