Հայաստանի Հանրապետական Կուսակցությունը առանցքային դերակատարում է ստանձնում որպես ընդդիմություն, հատկապես երկրի ու պետության համար այս բախտորոշ և ծանր ժամանակահատվածում։ 

Ընդ որում, ակնհայտ է, որ կուսակցությունն իր ընդդիմադիր գործունեությունն էլ ծառայեցնում է ոչ թե գործող իշխանությանը հայհոյելուն, այլ ելնում է բացառապես Հայաստանի Հանրապետության կենսական շահերից՝ անկախ նրանից, թե ով է իշխանության ղեկին։ Երեկ, սահմանային հերթական սրացումների ֆոնին, տեղի է ունեցել ՀՀԿ Գործադիր մարմնի նիստ, որը վարել է ՀՀԿ նախագահ, ՀՀ երրորդ նախագահ Սերժ Սարգսյանը։ 

Նիստի ընթացքում քննարկվել է Հայաստանի արևելյան սահմաններին, ինչպես նաև նախիջևանյան հատվածում ստեղծված իրավիճակը։ Սերժ Սարգսյանը կուսակիցներին հանձննարարել է ակտիվորեն աշխատել, պատշաճ կերպով իրազեկել կուսակցության միջազգային գործընկերներին տարածաշրջանային լարվածության կտրուկ աճի և ադրբեջանական զինված ուժերի կողմից սանձազերծված ռազմական գործողությունների վերաբերյալ։ ՀՀԿ-ն նաև քննադատել է Հայաստանի ԱԳՆ հայտարարության մեջ տեղ գտած անթույլատրելի ձևակերպումը։ Նշենք, որ ԱԳՆ-ն «Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի Հանրապետություն» հասկացության փոխարեն գործածել էր «Լեռնային Ղարաբաղի տարածք» բառակապակցությունը։ Նիստում քննարկվել է Ազգային Ժողովում Արցախի հարցերով մշտական հանձնաժողովի ստեղծման և լիարժեք աշխատանքի հարցը։ 

ՀՀԿ Գործադիր մարմնի կոռեկտ և զգացմունքային շեշտադրումներից զուրկ հայտարարությունը վկայում է, որ Սերժ Սարգսյանի ղեկավարած քաղաքական ուժը ելնելու է ոչ թե պահի անհրաժեշտությունից, այլ բացառապես երկրի շահերից, իսկ կուտակած ահռելի փորձը կօգնի, որպեսզի կուսակցությունը առանցքային դերակատարում ստանձնի առաջիկա խորհրդարանում։ 2018թ․ իշխանափոխությունից հետո Սերժ Սարգսյանն ու նրա կուսակիցները բազմաթիվ ծանր հարվածներ ստացան թե՛ գործող իշխանության, թե՛ հանրության մի շերտի կողմից, սակայն չընկրկեցին, չնեղացան, անմռունչ շարունակեցին իրենց աշխատանքը։Եվ այսօր էլ նրանց քայլերը միտված են ոչ թե Փաշինյանի իշխանությանը հարվածելուն կամ օգնելուն, այլ միայն Հայաստանը անդունդից դուրս բերելուն։
