Ինչպե՞ս կարելի է օգտագործել ատաղձագործի դազգահը: Խաղաղ ժամանակ, օրինակ, կարելի է հարյուրավոր արկղեր պատրաստել, որ մանդարինի առատ բերքը վաղեմի հարևանդ տեղափոխի շուկա: Բայց պատերազմի ժամանակ այն ավելի շատ պետք կգա դագաղ տաշելու նպատակով:
Պատերազմը ամեն ինչի նշանակությունն է էդպես փոխում: Սեղանակիցը վերածվում է զինակցի կամ թշնամու: Ապրածդ հողը, որը սիրելի էր, քանի որ բերք էր տալիս, դառնում է ատելի, քանի որ խժռում է որդուդ, հորդ, եղբորդ: Պատերազմի ժամանակ անուններ չկան, կան մակնիշներ, ինչպես զենքը չունի անուն: Կան Կալաշնիկով ավտոմատներ, Մակարով ատրճանակներ ու կան չեչեններ, վրացիներ, աբխազներ, էստոնացիներ: Մեկ այլ պատերազմում՝ հայեր ու ադրբեջանցիներ: Մեկ ուրիշում՝ հրեաներ ու արաբներ:
Մակնիշը ճակատիցդ առաջինը մահն է քերում: Նույն եղբայրական գերեզմանում արդեն չեչեններ ու վրացիներ չեն, այլ երիտասարդ մարդիկ, որոնց համար արդեն մեկ են գաղափարական կամ ազգամիջյան տարաձայնությունները: Պատերազմը արդեն նրանցից ոչ մեկինը չէ:
Եթե բախտդ բերում է՝ մակնիշդ ճակատիցդ քերում է կյանքը, երբ հանգամանքների բերումով հայտնվում ես պատերազմից դուրս իրականության մեջ: Էդ ժամանակ պարզվում է, որ իրար ատող երկուսից մեկը նույնքան մարդ է, նույնքան սիրել գիտի ու պատիվ ունի, որքան մյուսը: Ու ի հայտ են գալիս անունները: Էստոնացի ծերուկը դառնում է Իվո, չեչեն վարձկանը՝ Ահմեդ, կամավոր պատերազմ մեկնած դերասան վրացին՝ Նիկա:
Իվոն Աբխազիայում էստոնական գյուղերից մեկի վերջին ներկայացուցիչներից է: 19-րդ դարում ցարական իշխանության կողմից Կովկասում վերաբնակեցված էստոնացիների շառավիղներից է: Գյուղում երկու-երեք հոգի են մնացել, մեկին էդ հողի հետ կապում են գերեզմանները, մյուսին՝ մանդարինի այգին, երրորդին արդեն ոչինչ չի կապում, պատրաստվում է հեռանալ: Որովհետև ով հողի հետ կապ չի գտել, փախել է պատմական հայրենիք՝ Էստոնիա: Որովհետև պատերազմ է: Ոչ իրենց պատերազմը:
Աբխազների կողմից կռվող չեչեն վարձկանների ու վրացական ջոկատի բախումից մազապուրծ Նիկան ու Ահմեդը Իվոյի տանն են, էստոնացի ծերուկը փրկել է նրանց կյանքը ու պայման դրել՝ իր տան ներսում ոչ մի թշնամություն: Իսկ թշնամիներն ուզո՞ւմ են թշնամություն անել, ու միթե մարդկայնությունն էնքան խորն է թաղված, որ անհնար է զտել պատերազմի պարտադրած մակնիշներից:
Կաղացող ոտքը դիալոգներում պաթոսի առատությունն է, բայց սիրողի համար դա գուցե արդարացված է: Մանավանդ, որ վարպետորեն համեմվում է նուրբ հումորով ու հուզականությամբ: Առանձին ծափահարություններ են ուզում օպերատորական աշխատանքը, երաժշտական ձևավորումն ու դերասանների աչքերում պատերազմի թողած անսահման հոգնածության հետքը:
Զազա Ուրուշաձեի «Մանդարինները» պատերազմի մասին այն ֆիլմերից մեկն է, որ կարելի է դիտել արցունքների միջից ժպտալով: Եթե իհարկե ուշադրություն չդարձնես մի քանի տխրեցնող հանգամանքների վրա: Իսկ դրանք, շատ ափսոս, ակնհայտ են:
Շատ է զգալի, որ ֆիլմը նկարահանել է վրացի ռեժիսոր, էստոնական ֆինանսավորմամբ և դեռ վերջնական լուծում չստացած հակամարտության մասին: Վրաց-աբխազական կոնֆլիկտի մասին ֆիլմում միմյանց հակադրել չեչենի ու վրացու՝ մի տեսակ տարօրինակ է, ու թվում է՝ մի պատճառաբանություն կարող է ունենալ: Վրացական ֆիլմում աբխազը չէր կարող լինել էն հերոսը, որը մարդկայնություն դրսևորի: Էս հետևությունը գալիս են փաստելու նաև երկու դրվագներ, որտեղ աբխազ անջատողականները ներկայացվում են, մեղմ ասած, ոչ դրական լույսի ներքո:
Ցավն էն է, որ պատերազմը իրոք ամեն ինչի նշանակությունն է փոխում, էդ թվում նույնիսկ արվեստի:
